On November 1, 2012, Mitch Lucker, frontman for Suicide Silence has died following a motorbike crash in Huntington Beach, California. He was just 28 years old.
Nearly two hours before the crash, Mitch
Lucker posted a photo of himself dressed up as a suit-wearing skeleton
with the caption 'The dead are living'.
But it was his wife
who made the first formal implication that something more sinister may
be involved than a simple traffic accident.
"He
was an alcoholic, and it's been a big battle," his wife Jolie
Carmadella told a crowd of mourning fans at a makeshift vigil near the
crash site.
"I tried to stop him.
I was in front of him begging him not to leave the house. Begging him. 'Just seriously, for us, don't leave.' And he did. And this is what
happened".
"He was an amazing man. He was a
wonderful father and a great husband. And now he's gonna miss out on
watching (his five-year-old daughter) Kenadee grow, because he decided
to drink and ride."
"Just don't. Just think before you guys do something stupid. Please learn from this. Please".
